Feedback from Volunteers:
“I’m so glad I volunteered to work at The Hub. I help to cook the lunch. The people are friendly and there are plenty of activities. I feel I am doing something useful for others.“
“I volunteer each week and help with baking. We make soup, scones, biscuits, cakes and other items. Many of the group don’t cook at home. They take great pride in learning how to bake and making their own food.“
“Since I became a volunteer at the Hub, I prepare vegetables, wipe tables and take peelings to the composter. On days when I’m not volunteering, I attend courses at The Hub. I have learned lots of new things. The Hub is a friendly and welcoming place. I love meeting and chatting with the people there. Volunteering has made me happier and more confident. I look forward to being there every day.“
“I volunteered to help with the garden. Members grow flowers, fruit and vegetables, which are used in the meals at The Hub. Many people who come to The Hub don’t have gardens. They love being outdoors and growing things. It’s good for people mentally and physically to be outside and in the fresh air.“
“Hope everyone enjoyed the activities as much as we did. Thank you so much for having us. It is nice to put into practice what we have learned in our college course.“
